That's much longer than CM Punk's historic 434-day reign as the WWE Champion. I decided to start it back up because 2014 was a successful year for my career, and I have a feeling 2015 will be more of the same, so I wanted to chronicle it. First, I'll attempt a not-so-brief recap of 2014:<br /><br />The year started very promising as I was promoted from being a weekend/fill-in update anchor (Flash Boy) on <strong>WEEI</strong>. I moved up onto the <strong>Mut &amp; Merloni Show</strong> which aired from 10am to 2pm weekdays on the radio station. Unfortunately my stay there was short-lived as the station decided to go in another direction and eliminate the update anchor position. My last day on the show was February 28th. I would pop up on WEEI a couple more times over the next few months, filling in as a host for some shows, but I effectively finished up my time with WEEI in May.<br /><br />During the spring of 2014, I spent some time filling in as a co-host for <strong>Boston Herald Radio's Sports Town</strong>, which was a good experience. It let me get some more reps as sports talk show host even as my days at WEEI were winding down. A momentous occasion occurred in March as I made my play-by-play broadcasting debut on <strong>ESPN3</strong>. Due to <strong>Harvard</strong>'s agreements with ESPN and locally with <strong>NESN</strong>, I had numerous opportunities to broadcast on ESPN3 and NESN in 2014.<br /><span style=""></span></div> <hr style="width:100%;clear:both;visibility:hidden;"></hr> <div><div class="wsite-multicol"><div class="wsite-multicol-table-wrap" style="margin:0 -15px;"> <table class="wsite-multicol-table"> <tbody class="wsite-multicol-tbody"> <tr class="wsite-multicol-tr"> <td class="wsite-multicol-col" style="width:43.892617449664%; padding:0 15px;"> <div><div class="wsite-image wsite-image-border-thin " style="padding-top:10px;padding-bottom:10px;margin-left:0;margin-right:0;text-align:center"> <a> <img src="http://www.scottsudikoff.com/uploads/1/5/5/5/1555919/8947235.jpg?187" alt="Picture" style="width:187;max-width:100%" /> </a> <div style="display:block;font-size:90%"></div> </div></div> </td> <td class="wsite-multicol-col" style="width:56.107382550336%; padding:0 15px;"> <div><div class="wsite-image wsite-image-border-thin " style="padding-top:10px;padding-bottom:10px;margin-left:0;margin-right:0;text-align:center"> <a> <img src="http://www.scottsudikoff.com/uploads/1/5/5/5/1555919/5505080_orig.jpg" alt="Picture" style="width:auto;max-width:100%" /> </a> <div style="display:block;font-size:90%"></div> </div></div> </td> </tr> </tbody> </table> </div></div></div> <span class='imgPusher' style='float:left;height:0px'></span><span style='display: table;z-index:10;width:188px;position:relative;float:left;max-width:100%;;clear:left;margin-top:0px;*margin-top:0px'><a><img src="http://www.scottsudikoff.com/uploads/1/5/5/5/1555919/6011713.jpg?170" style="margin-top: 5px; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 10px; border-width:1px;padding:3px; max-width:100%" alt="Picture" class="galleryImageBorder wsite-image" /></a><span style="display: table-caption; caption-side: bottom; font-size: 90%; margin-top: -10px; margin-bottom: 10px; text-align: center;" class="wsite-caption"></span></span> <div class="paragraph" style="text-align:justify;display:block;">Over the summer, I picked up some freelance work with <strong>SiriusXM's MLB Network Radio</strong>. Basically my job was to watch the game and then head into the clubhouse of the winning team to setup a live interview for the hosts back in the studio. The big thrill I had was being able to conduct an interview on my own with <strong>Torii Hunter </strong>of the <strong>Detroit Tigers</strong>.<br /><br />Also in the summer, I spent my second season as the play-by-play voice for the <strong>Boston Breakers</strong> of the National Women's Soccer League. My work with the Breakers led me to two other opportunities. The first was working a game for the U.S. Soccer Federation in the <strong>U.S. Open Cup</strong>. The other, thanks to the recommendation of my Breakers broadcast partner Katherine Donnelly, was my debut with <strong>American Sports Network</strong>. Katherine and I called the CAA women's soccer championship game in November. The game aired across the country on stations like SportsNet New York, Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic and even as far away as San Diego.<br /></div> <hr style="width:100%;clear:both;visibility:hidden;"></hr> <span class='imgPusher' style='float:right;height:0px'></span><span style='display: table;z-index:10;width:auto;position:relative;float:right;max-width:100%;;clear:right;margin-top:0px;*margin-top:0px'><a><img src="http://www.scottsudikoff.com/uploads/1/5/5/5/1555919/9281606.jpg?242" style="margin-top: 10px; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 10px; border-width:1px;padding:3px; max-width:100%" alt="Picture" class="galleryImageBorder wsite-image" /></a><span style="display: table-caption; caption-side: bottom; font-size: 90%; margin-top: -10px; margin-bottom: 10px; text-align: center;" class="wsite-caption"></span></span> <div class="paragraph" style="text-align:justify;display:block;">In the fall and winter I've continued my play-by-play with Harvard University for the <strong>Ivy League Digital Network</strong>. I'm lucky enough to broadcast for extremely successful teams like Crimson football and basketball. As I alluded to earlier, I've been able to call Harvard football, basketball and hockey games that have aired live on NESN. I'm also in the midst of my fifth season as the play-by-play voice of <strong>UMass Lowell</strong> women's basketball. On top of all that, I continue to work as a Public Address Announcer at <strong>Northeastern</strong>, <strong>Tufts</strong> and <strong>Holy Cross</strong>. So, needless to stay, I've been staying busy in the 676 days since my last blog post.<br /><br />According to my unofficial tally, I worked 205 games in the year 2014, which included 88 broadcasts. The bulk of the other 117 games were as a PA announcer. So, welcome back! My first game of 2015 is Friday night as I'll be the color commentator for Harvard women's basketball vs. Florida Gulf Coast on the Ivy League Network!
